With over 10 years of professional experience in residential and commercial projects in the Bay Area, Jorge Carbonell enjoys working with clients on a wide range of project types and scales. He is a hands-on architect who communicates closely with the client and with the rest of the design and construction team. His interests are in historic restoration and re-use, and working within complex urban environments on projects that make a lasting and meaningful contribution to their communities. Jorge is sensitive to the efficient use of materials, time and budget, and is committed to environmental responsibility with an emphasis on energy efficiency and design flexibility to ensure a long useful life of the building investment.
Jorge has extensive experience working with city agencies, the health and fire departments, and various community and stakeholder groups. He will work with the client to define the scope of work and identify permit and regulatory agencies early in the process. He provides consulting services for various stages of the project approvals process, and has made successful presentations to the Planning Commission, Historic Preservation Commission, and the Board of Appeals.
